Trying To Learn My Lessons

I’m trying to learn everything my human wants me to learn.  I really am.  But I just don’t understand some things.  Shasta says that I will never understand humans.  There is one thing that confuses me most.  Why do humans get mad when someone is trying to keep what belongs to them or keep from getting beat up?
There was this thing that my human was watching on TV and she said that everyone was mad at the wrong person.  She said that people need to know the facts about stuff before the do something called “jumping to conclusions”.  I don’t really know what that means.  I just know that when I do something wrong and I get hurt by Shasta…she doesn’t get mad at Shasta, she gets mad at me and puts me in timeout.  I really hate timeout!
Would it be ok to put those media type people in timeout?  Shasta says they are the biggest part of the problem.  She says that they report their opinion and not the facts.  Shasta also said that those political type people are just as bad.  They should go in timeout, too!!!!  Candi said that if we did that, there wouldn’t be anybody else left on TV and that the place she went to the other day would be empty.
I think what I’m supposed to be learning is to wait and study all the facts before biting somebody and that if I do something wrong I should be ready to go into timeout instead of the other dog.  Just one question…with all this growing up and the hard stuff that goes with it, do I have to give up chewing on shoes?
P.S.  Don't tell Candi I'm still chewing on shoes.  She hasn't found those yet.

Puppy Watches SCOTUS

My human won’t go outside to play.  She says we have to watch what is going on in a place called Washington, DC.  Shasta says that I should just sit quietly until it’s over and then Candi will take us out to play.  I don’t know very much, but I do know that what is happening is very important and my human is very interested and concerned.
This is what I know so far.  One, we have three branches of government and each branch is has a specific purpose.  The judicial branch is the one that interprets the Constitution.  Candi says that means they have the power to decide if a law passed by Congress (that’s the branch that makes the laws) is constitutional or not.  Two, that is why what is happening right now is so important and that is why Candi won’t go outside to play.  This thing called Obamacare (Shasta says that is not really the law’s name but it’s what everybody calls it) is what the court is hearing arguments about so they can decide if it is constitutional.
Candi says that whatever the court decides, it will have a huge impact on the lives of everyday Americans.  She says that freedom is at stake because this law would be just a stepping stone on the path to a socialist government.  When I asked Shasta what Candi meant, she said, “It means that if they can tell our human what to buy, how much to buy and when to buy something, they can also tell her that she has to give one of us up one day because they don’t think she should have two dogs.”  That scared me.
I don’t know or understand a lot of things, but I do know that having no freedom is no life!  I think I’ll continue to watch and pay attention to what is going on.  I can always go play outside another time.  At least Candi gave me a nice rawhide bone to chew on while I’m watching.

Breitbart - A Hero To My Human

According to my human, America lost a true Patriot early this morning.  I don’t know this Breitbart man but I do know that my human is crying.  Shasta says that many Patriots will be crying today.  My human has a friend that sent her a quote from my namesake and in honor of the man that so many are crying for today, Candi said I could share it with you.

"It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived."
George S. Patton

Tonight before I lay down I am going to say a prayer for a man I don’t know because he touched so many lives and gave of himself for his country.  My human considers him a hero and so do I.  Please join my human, Shasta and myself as we remember the man and the legacy.
